LANShield is an academic research project dedicated to improving the security of local network access by mobile applications.
A local network connects devices within a limited area, enabling them to communicate with each other and access the internet. For example, your phone, printer, and smart TV connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Android apps that can access the internet can also directly communicate with devices on your local network. Some apps misuse this to collect information about you or even get access to your devices. The LANShield app let's you control which of your apps can access your local network.
Manage and restrict which mobile apps can access devices on your local network.
Monitor and understand how your mobile apps interact with your local network, enhancing your awareness of potential risks.
Contribute to ongoing research by joining our user study and help us improve LAN access security for everyone.
Available for free on the Play Store.
